This is one of the biggest colleges in the Solapur University,Solapur. It was established by the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara in 1960 with the name Pandharpur College, Pandharpur with prime objective to educate students from rural area and downtrodden strata of the society. It was renamed as Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Mahavidyalaya, Pandharpur in 1992. It is a multifaculty college providing education from XIth standard to PG courses in all the three faculties. There are 07 research centers recognised by Solapur University. 36 students are doing Ph.D. in different subjects. College is reaccreditated with 'A+' grade (CGPA 3.51) by NAAC, Banglore.
